Born in Northampton in 1961 Adrian studied an Honours Degree in Fine Art at Gwent College of Higher Education in Newport, South Wales where he specialised mainly in painting and printmaking, with photography at that time still much a peripheral activity for him.

After graduating, he became increasingly interested in working with photography and eventually moved into working exclusively in this medium.

Two years working as a documentary photographer on the Northamptonshire Heritage Interpretation Project in the mid 1980s was followed by a number of artist’s residencies and part time lecturing posts before moving into full time teaching whilst continuing to pursue his own art practice.

Adrian has exhibited his work regularly since 1984 in a variety of collaborative, group and one-man shows both nationally and regionally. Adrian taught photography at Milton Keynes College for over 20 years and was Head of Art, Design & Media there for ten years until 2011. He was then Director of leading community arts charity Inter-Action MK until establishing “Phoenix Rising MK” an arts based organisation offering creative opportunities for people with learning disabilities and support needs, based at Arts Central MK.

Adrian continues to pursue his own personal photographic practice.
